EUROPEAN BIOMIMICRY DESIGN CHALLENGE

2.) The Challenge

We invite regenerative leaders, sustainability innovators and change-makers of all fields to apply their knowledge and skills to the development of life-inspired innovation in resonance with the SDGs. In a setting of cooperative contesting, teams will share their resources in the spirit of radical collaboration, with the support of mentors and coaches, and apply key frameworks of Biomimicry to their area of focus.

Here is your challenge

“Design a bio-inspired solution – product or service – that creates a positive impact towards one or several of the selected SDGs using European assets for the benefit of the world.”

Focus fields

The first European Biomimicry Design Challenge is driven by desire to develop solutions to the main concerns of recent years. We thus defined four focus fields. They are supposed to give directions, not to be exclusive or exhaustive.

Your contribution to the Decade of Action

The United Nations have declared the Decade of Action to achieve a carbon-neural world until 2050. The initiative is the latest endeavour to promote and foster the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We assessed which of the SDG are suitable levers for a European context. For that, we scanned the respective targets and identified a diverse group of goals. They shall serve as the North Star for the European Biomimicry Design Challenge without being restrictive.
