3.) We support you

3.) We support you

The Biomimicry European Design Challenge is not any ideathon; it is a leap into your future: From the challenge through incubation to a startup or funding project! And on this journey you are not alone.

1.) A streamlined process

To help you reach your goals, meet the criteria of the European Biomimicry Design Challenge, deliver quality and make your life easier in the process, we provide you with a proven design process: The process is taken from the experience of some of the leading incubators of the world; and it leads you from Human-centred Design through biomimicry to business modelling.

2.) Mentors and peers

In nature, every individual is connected to the ecosystem; in some species there are tight social bonds to make the group more successful and safe. This is how we work in our network, through mentor support and in a peer community.

On the COBIOM platform, you can find change makers from industry, academia, social innovation or startups. The can either serve as mentors on your journey, become part of your team, or help you along the way while earning reward points for collaboration. Just ask around! You will be surprised how open and helpful people can to be.

3.) Trainings

We offer trainings in biomimicry and beyond in the European and global network. Visit www.BiomimicryAcademy.com for more information. the trainings cover an ever-growing range of topics, and go from intro level to in depth learning and certification as a Biomimicry Practitioner. If you participate in a course, you have the opportunity to attend the weekly Office Hour with the directors of the Academy to ask questions about the courses, projects and career options.

4.) Project incubation

The most promissing solutions to the European Biomimicry Design Challenge are selected by a jury and your team’s collaboration score. They are suggested for further incubation at the Biomimicry Academy and in the COBIOM project incubator. These selected projects are supported by further mentorship, business development, communication and fundraising.

In addition, the selected projects have the chance to iterate their solutions based on the feedback by the mentors, to then submit them free of charge to the Global Biomimicry Design Challenge of our partners at Biomimicry Institute. The submission gives you the chance of attending the Biomimicry Launchpad in the USA, and eventually compete for the 100,000 US$ Ray of Hope price.
